The cooperative is a business model based on a democratic structure and operations. Its activity is carried out in accordance with the cooperative principles, accepted and regulated in the regional, national and international spheres: the voluntary and open membership of the members, democratic management, the economic participation of the members, education, training and information, the general interest in the community and the primacy of the person over capital.
In addition, the cooperatives stand out for:
- It is the most democratic business formula. Each person has one vote, without being linked to the share capital, which is distributed equitably and equally among all the partners.
- The profits are distributed equally among all the partners or are used for the social purpose of the cooperative.
- A cooperative must have at least three members and can be dedicated to any sector: business, commercial, agricultural, services, industrial...
- You can capitalize the unemployment benefit to undertake or become a member of a cooperative
- There is a bonus of 800 euros per year, for a period of three years, to incorporate unemployed young people under 30 years of age as worker members of the cooperative.
- Workers of companies in crisis can promote the transformation of this into a cooperative to maintain their activity and, with it, keep their jobs.
