The president of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño, participated in the event "Impact Economy and Public Sector", held this Thursday at the Congress of Deputies, and organized by SpainNAB, Harmon and Afi. The conference aimed to generate knowledge about how the public sector is one of the protagonists of the development of an impact economy with a view to meeting the Sustainable Development Goals, as drivers of change and social transformation.

CEPES, shows its "surprise" and "disappointment" at the fact that the Plenary of Congress does not contemplate any proposal of the social economy in the Employment Law Project, which was approved by the Congress of Deputies on Thursday, December 22. Since last July when the Employment Bill entered the Congress of Deputies, CEPES, within the framework of its usual proactive spirit and institutional collaboration, sent to all the parliamentary groups of the Committee on Labor, Inclusion, Social Security and Migration -in charge of processing this Bill- 17 proposals for amendments. One of the proposals presented by CEPES is aimed at correcting some unwanted effects caused by the 2021 labor reform, which hindered or prevented the use of capitalization due to unemployment in the cases of incorporation as members to cooperatives and labor societies. CEPES trusts that the Senate can correct this incomprehensible decision adopted by the Government's Parliamentary Groups.

CEPES, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, will bring together in Madrid the highest political representatives at the state, regional and international level responsible for the promotion of this business model since the spanish Social Economy Law (Law 5/2011 on Social Economy) was approved in March 2011, a pioneer in the international arena and which was unanimously approved in the Congress of Deputies

The Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES) claims its presence in the Commission for Social and Economic Reconstruction of the Congress of Deputies, since it is a contradiction that this Commission does not contemplate in its debates the presence and defense of the interests of Social Economy companies and what they can mean for the economic reconstruction of Spain (cooperatives, labor companies, mutual societies, fishermen's guilds, special employment centers, insertion companies and disability associations).

The Social Economy Intergroup of the European Parliament has been formally constituted in Brussels supported by the five most important political formations of the European Chamber and more than 100 MEPs. Its objective is to promote a European agenda for this business model that will be marked by the approval in 2021 of a European Action Plan for the Social Economy announced by the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen.

Before the debate on Tuesday 17 February in the Congress of Deputies, CEPES calls Parliamentary Group for this initiative, which is a historical demand of the Social Economy sector, more ambitious, so integrated into the specifications in addition to the cases referred to, elements of Corporate Social Responsibility.

As stated by the chairman of the Committee on Employment and Social Security of the House of Representatives, Jose Eugenio Azpiroz in 2020 that organizes meetings SERVIMEDIA, this time to commemorate the International Year of Cooperatives 2012 proclaimed by the UN. He did so in the framework of the conferences that were held today in order to support the UN Declaration to proclaim 2012 as International Year of Cooperatives and confirm the important role that is developing the Social Economy Cooperatives especially in the current socio-economic scenario. This act is in addition to other activitiesbeing held around the world.

The Chamber of Deputies of Mexico City overwhelmingly approved on 24 November, the General Law on Social and Solidarity Economy. The text consolidates and strengthens the Social Economy sector in Mexico one of the pillars of economic development. Also promote job creation, strengthening of democracy, equitable income distribution and strengthening the sector.
