The Spanish social economy employer meets in Santiago de Compostela to design its strategy for the coming years

The Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES) has gathered for two days in Santiago de Compostela its top leaders to deepen the strategy that the Confederation will launch in the coming years to mark a roadmap that promotes the growth of this business model. The city has been chosen for these days of reflection within the framework of the capital of Social Economy that the Galician city holds in 2022, as part of an intense agenda of events that are being held to strengthen the capital.

Today was held in Santiago de Compostela, Spanish capital of the social economy, the act of presentation of the manifesto of the Social Economy on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Law 5/2011. The president of CEPES intervened together with the Second Vice-President and Minister of Labour and Social Economy and the President of Foresgal.

Yesterday the European Conference 'The role of the Social Economy in job creation and the implementation of the European Pillar of Social Rights' was held in Sintra, Portugal, coinciding with the European capital of the Social Economy 2021 in Portugal. It was attended by Authorities from different European countries, representatives of the European Social Economy and Community Institutions. The resilience and rapid recovery capacity of the Social Economy business model in the hardest moments of the pandemic was one of the central axes of the day.

CEPES, as employer of the Social Economy, will be a strategic ally of the Government of Spain so that the capital of Toledo is an international benchmark in Social Economy. The appointment of Toledo as the European Capital of the Social Economy was agreed on May 28 at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee of the Luxembourg Declaration, made up of 16 EU governments committed to the Social Economy. Toledo aims to reinforce the work already carried out by the previous European capitals of the Social Economy, Madrid 2017, Maribor 2018 (Slovenia) and Strasbourg 2019 (France) with the challenge of making visible and promoting the European Social Economy.
