Madrid, November 8, 2019.- Fundación ONCE and the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES) have renewed a collaboration agreement with the objective of promoting employment, full inclusion, equal opportunities and non-discrimination of people with disabilities
The agreement, ratified by the Executive Vice President of Fundación ONCE, Alberto Durán , and the President of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño , commits both entities to carry out actions to promote the employment of persons with disabilities within the Social Economy.
Alberto Durán has pointed out “how important is the collaboration between the different entities that make up the Social Economy to be able to reach a more just and supportive society, while we advance in the full exercise of the rights of people with disabilities”.
For his part, Pedreño stressed that "the Social Economy demonstrates that it is possible to successfully include people with disabilities and groups of difficult employability, through socially and economically profitable companies." Likewise, the president of CEPES recalled that "the Social Economy is the largest employer of people with disabilities and, therefore, has become a model of success that is being implemented in other countries. ”
The agreement emphasizes the need to “join forces and adopt joint projects and actions aimed at promoting and enabling the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in society, being aware that the means available are necessary to achieve their common goal. by public authorities, institutions, corporate social agents, society in general and the generation of economic activities as an integrating element in society ”.
Among the actions that will be developed thanks to this agreement, the 'Promotion of employment for People with Disabilities in the field of Social Economy' stands out. For this, the parties undertake to develop studies related to the objectives of the agreement.
In addition, it is established to promote entrepreneurship and self-employment of people with disabilities in the field of Social Economy, as well as actions to increase relations between the ONCE Foundation with the associated Social Economy entities or members of CEPES, and advice to the same in terms of accessibility to the physical environment, communication and technologies.
The agreement will also promote the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the framework of the INSERTA ECONOMIA SOCIAL program, as well as the generation of lines of cooperation in the role of intermediate bodies of the European Social Fund that both entities are assigned.
