The president of Cajamar also stressed that the Social Economy represents an economic potential in many regions of the world, and plays a fundamental role in many territories where he is the sole business agent. In addition, Baamonde said, "it is a great ally to combat the effects of empty Spain."
“This publication is a roadmap of the future that contains commitments from high figures of the Government of Spain, European institutions, international organizations and experts in Social Economy, who explain their adherence and proposals with this business model. It is a work that, above all, wants to give the dimension of the important role that companies and social economy entities play in Europe and the Mediterranean today, ”explained the president of CEPES.
“The Social Economy is not a utopia. It is a business reality that represents 7% of GDP and global #employment, and is giving answers and contributions to the challenges of #Europe and the 2030 agenda, "added Pedreño.
Pedreño has taken advantage of the presentation of this book to announce the historical advances that are taking place these days, by announcing the president of the European Commission the launch of a European Action Plan for the Social Economy in the next Legislature.
The Minister of Employment, Research and Universities of the Government of the Region of Murcia, Miguel Motas , stressed that the Social Economy "is allied with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations", while advanced thatThis autonomous community has created 350 new companies of this business model since the pact for the Excellence in Social Economy was signed, which has begun to be renewed until 2023.
For its part, the mayor of Bullas and president of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities, María Dolores Muñoz , pointed out that “the Social Economy is an opportunity to combat the changes that the territories are facing, while generating an impact "Unquestionable in the territory".
Competitiveness and Innovation
All the authors of the book agree on valuing the Social Economy as a form of company that, without renouncing competitiveness and innovation, places the person and solidarity at the center of their activities. In addition, they all make value proposals on their contribution to generate solutions to the current social, economic and environmental challenges, as a pillar on which to build a more equitable and fair economic model.
The event held in Murcia puts a halt to the presentations made on the occasion of the publication of the book 'The social economy in the Mediterranean', after the events previously held in Almería, Barcelona (in the MedaWeek) and Strasbourg within the framework of the European Day of Social Economy companies.
