WHY THIS PROJECT?
Social economy is a key player for sustainable development. Social economy enterprises and organisations contribute to generate an inclusive and fair economic growth that works for people and the planet. The European Institutions and the international organisations are strongly committed to promoting social economy:
The
International Labour Organisation (ILO) defines the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) as a “concept designating enterprises and organizations, in particular cooperatives, mutual benefit societies, associations, foundations and social enterprises, which have the specific feature of producing goods, services and knowledge while pursuing both economic and social aims and fostering solidarity”.
The Project PL4SE – PLP aims to set ambitious regulatory frameworks to fully unleash the potential of social economy enterprises and organisations.
This project is framed within the OECD Global Action on “Promoting Social and Solidarity Economy Ecosystems” financed by the European Union’s Foreign Partnership Instrument whose main objective is to share knowledge and promote learning to support the social economy.
The PL4SE – PLP Consortium led by CEPES is selected together with 5 other consortia working on specific challenges faced by social economy."
