(Madrid, September 5, 2013). - The Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES) congratulates ONCE on the occasion of the award of the Prince of Asturias Award for Concord 2013, by socio-entrepreneurial work is done, and highlight its role in the integration of people with disabilities in the labor market, as well as its important momentum for the Social Economy.

CEPES considers the Prince of Asturias Award for Concord highlights the important work since 1938 ONCE in favor of integrating the collective socio-occupationally disabled people. CEPES president, Juan Antonio Pedreño, Explained that in the past 20 years, the ONCE and its Foundation have created 84,955 jobs, 97.6% for persons with disabilities. It also notes that of the 20,000 jobs created by all Spanish Social Economy in 2012, 5,500 of them were created by the ONCE and its Foundation.

The Social Economy Employers rate this deserved award contributing to disclose and recognize a unique model in the world, generating economic and social benefits, as well as evidence that economic rationality and social progress are compatible criteria. "Thanks to the work of the ONCE and the other entities encompassed inCEPES, the Spanish Social Economy enterprises in 2012 reached 10% of GDP, and managing to maintain employment levels, " Pedreño recalled.

"The award recognizes internationally do justice for the role ONCE as a pioneer in its field, and to demonstrate that there is another business model, in which individuals and social order prevail on capital," said Pedreño.

ONCE and Fundosa Group, the business division of the ONCE Foundation, are members of CEPES entities, while maintaining a vice within the Board of Employers of Social Economy.
