A delegation from the government of the Republic of Turkey headed by Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade and Customs in Turkey today held a meeting with the president of CEPES and representatives of some members members, in order to know the model of the economy Social Spanish-that accounts for 12.5 of GDP,find ways of joint cooperation and seek to implement measures of collective entrepreneurship in the country.
The workshop took place at the headquarters of the Employers of Social Economy and attended, among others, Vice Minister and Secretary of State, Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Turkish government, and Fatih Metin Neçet Akkoç, respectively, and the president CEPES, Juan Antonio PedrozaAnd representatives of the Spanish Confederation of Worker Cooperatives (COCETA) and Agrifood Cooperatives, both partners CEPES members.
CEPES Representatives of the Turkish representatives detailed the different business models of the Social Economy (established by Law 5/2011), the stimulus measures this business formula that shows that it is possible to combine economic viability and social responsibility as well as the state of affairs both ateconomic and legal of Worker Cooperatives, Industrial, Education, Agro-Food, Health, and Mutual Integration Companies, sectors and business models in which the delegation had a special interest. Similarly, the delegation showed interest in community structure CEPES members and partners.
Fatih Metin explained that "Turkey is positive to benefit from the experience of Spain in Social EconomySince we attach great importance to the cooperative and, although we have taken important steps to strengthen this movement, one of our goals is to increase our country the importance of the social economy. "
"The reason for the visit to Spain," added the Turkish deputy, "is known examples of successful Spanish Social EconomyAs we aim to further diversify the Turkish cooperative movement. Therefore, we want to know the best practices of the Spanish unions on job creation and its experience in sectors as diverse as education, health, food, industry, mutuals or training. "
Meanwhile, Pedreño rated "the interest of the Turkish delegation to adapt and advance in their country measures of success realized by the Spanish Social Economy, which has kept some 2,500,000 jobs during the crisis and over 43,000 business entities ".
CEPES President also highlighted the "growing importance for companies in the Spanish Social Economy of Turkey, a developing country in which there are now about84,000 cooperatives with more than 8 million members and generate 120,000 jobs. "
Thanks to this meeting, CEPES advise and work with the government of the Republic of Turkey to promote social economy projects in the country and enhance business relations between the two countries.
