CEPES demands a greater impetus for Social Economy in Europe

In the framework of the XXII General Assembly, CEPES submitted its proposals to the European Parliament ahead of elections next Sunday. Also the President of CEPES um exhibited more year commitment to creating and maintaining jobs.

(Valencia, May 20, 2014) -. President of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES), Juan Antonio Pedreño, made "?"?during the XXII General Ordinary CEPES, appealed to all political parties to to strengthen the Social Economy in the European agenda.

During the closing ceremony which was attended by the Minister of Employment and Social Security of the Government of Spain, Fatima Banez; President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Alberto Fabra; and the Mayor of Valencia, Rita Barbera; Pedroza has shown "the boom that the social economy is gaining across the board, which makes it a strength and a pillar of future as reflected in key strategic documents adopted by the national and European governments, regional".

During the Assembly has noted how companies that make up the Social Economy show that it is possible a compatible economic development with social development. An economic model that is sustainable in the long term, committed to the business and social innovation, by knowledge, by creating stable employment, whichhas been set as a fundamental challenge to the internationalization and especially gives priority to people.

In Spain, in the business of CEPES, there are 42,684 social economy enterprises that generate 2,564,934 jobs which represents 12.5 percent of the labor force of the country at this time. In addition, turnover has exceeded 145 299 000 euros (almost 10% of GDP). At the same time, over 15 million people are associatively linked to the social and economic movement.

The commitment of the Social Economy with Jobs, principal concern of citizens, has been reinforced once again.
