(Madrid, October 21) The Ministry of Handicrafts and Social Economy and Solidarity of Morocco sign an agreement with the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES) to enlist their cooperation in implementing the program of the Moroccan administration for development of the social economy of Morocco.
This agreement has the support of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), It was one of the main topics of the agenda of the delegation of CEPES, led by its president, Juan Antonio Pedreño, who participated in the conference organized by the Government of Morocco in the IV Hall of Social Solidarity Economy from 8 to 17 October.
The Moroccan government CEPES invited to participate in conferences that completed the program of activities of the IV Hall in which gathered more than 350 exhibitors from Social Economy organizations in Morocco and attended by thousands of visitors. Representatives of CEPES presented in these days the application and development of Spanish Law 5/2011 of Social Economy, the Spanish experience of worker cooperatives in the maintenance and creation of employment through the transformation processes of enterprises in crisis into cooperatives and, finally, the activities of the Spanish Economy Social in development cooperation and the fight against poverty, especially in the Mediterranean.
Morocco and Spain: a shared interest in the Social Economy
Pedreño "recalled that Morocco is betting for years by the social economy, which according to data provided by the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Social Economy, has more than 60,000 entities, development associations and cooperatives, which are linked More than 4 million people".
"CEPES is a priority to work with Morocco to launch projects and initiatives that help to mutually strengthen the Social Economy of both countries," said Pedreño. Collaboration agreement CEPES-Ministry of Social Economy of Morocco
The Ambassador of Spain in Morocco, Ricardo Diez-Hochleitner, He received in Rabat the President of CEPES. During the meeting, the cooperation between Spain and Morocco in the field of Social Economy and the role CEPES will play in implementing the agreement signed in February this year by the Secretary General of International Development Cooperation, Gonzalo Robles addressed and Minister of Handicrafts and Social Economy and Solidarity of Morocco, Marouane Fatema, for institutional support program of the Social and Solidarity Economy.
