(Oviedo, April 19, 2016) .- The Internationalization Forum held in Oviedo Social Economy stressed the need for Asturian companies in this economic sector committed to innovation and internationalization in order to become more competitive. All speakers at the meeting agreed that the social economy is a growing sector that has withstood the crisis better.

Oviedo was one of five cities in Spain chosen to present the "Plan of Internationalization of Social Economy", developed by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, the Chamber of Commerce of Spain and Chamber of Commerce of Oviedo and the Spanish Business Confederation Social Economy (CEPES), with the support of the Spanish Confederation of Worker Cooperatives (COCETA) and the Business Confederation of Labor Societies of Spain (Confesal).

The Forum is part of the 'Plan of Internationalization of Social Economy' with the aim of promoting the opening of social institutions to foreign markets in order to improve the competitiveness of enterprises Economy. The plan is articulated through three types of actions:

 

• Forums directed mainly Cooperatives and labor companies to explain the benefits of internationalization of Social Economy

• Individualized reports with recommendations for improvement, identifying success factors and market analysis of opportunity (150 reports)

• Internationalization Plans customized with direct expert advice to companies that request (40 Plans)

CHALLENGE internationalize

At the Forum in Oviedo, President of Confesal and Asata, Ruperto Iglesias, he highlighted the work of the companies that make up the Social Economy from the social point of view and employment, and how important it is that there are specific programs for internationalization one of the immediate challenges of entrepreneurs in this sector.

The Deputy Director of the International Area Chamber of Commerce of Spain, Julian Lopez-Arenas, stressed that social economy enterprises account for 10% of Spanish GDP and since this organization has made ​​a strong commitment to support those companies that They want to export.

For his part, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Oviedo, Fernando Fernández-Kelly, said that the Asturian companies have export and entrepreneurial spirit, but still "has not reached convergence with other autonomous communities." Fernandez-Kelly also recalled that the increased flow of trade companies of Asturias is made with Italy, the United States, France and Portugal.

Deputy Director General of the Autonomous Work of MiniEmployment Sterio, Juan Ignacio Gomez, referred in his speech to "inclusive" nature of many jobs in the social economy, "which gives an opportunity to have more problems of social integration". In Spain, the 43,000 social economy enterprises generated 12.5% ​​of employment.

The general director of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Principality of Asturias, Francisco Jose Delgado, spoke of the "urgent" need to innovate and internationalize by companies engaged in the social economy in Asturias, which provide a total of 5,617 jobs. The Councillor for Economy of the City of Oviedo, Ruben Rosón, called for opening new production models in Asturias.
