(Madrid, July 28, 2016) .- The Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES) supported the role of Service Stations of Agrifood Cooperatives and SAT in rural areas, differentiating this distribution model fuels called "Low Cost Service stations", which are characterized by not having permanent staff on site.

CEPES president, Juan Antonio Pedreño, highlighted the role of Agrifood Cooperatives in rural and regional environment, as if there were its fuel distribution poles, it is likely that no one tried to place them , for their low profitability. " It adds that "the Stations of Service of Agrifood Cooperatives are an important service for the rural population."

Most fuel distribution poles of Agrifood Cooperatives and SAT are located on the perimeter of their facilities and in rural areas. This means that not require a worker continually remain the same, as if the user had problems or needed help, the cooperative workers quickly come to solve it. For this reason Pedreño says that "the Stations of Service Cooperatives are not neglected"

Most of the nearly 900 service stations Agrifood Cooperatives and SAT making this economic activity in rural areas for more than 30 years ago, are small or medium-sized, not reaching the million liters of fuel distribution per year by associative entity. Wherever they operate, offer consumers both cooperative members and third parties products at reasonable and competitive prices.

CEPES believes that would not be acceptable that the conflict can maintain the Associations of Traditional service stations with new "low cost", demanding the first permanent presence of personnel in distribution poles through the legislation of the Autonomous Communities . on Consumers and Users, try to be used to attack the activity of agrifood cooperatives and fuel distribution systems in the environment in which they operate.
