(Madrid, December 13, 2016) .- The Spanish universities have in the current academic year with an offer of 74 postgraduate training options related to the Social Economy, according to a study by the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES ).
The report 'The Social Economy in the university postgraduate studies - Academic Year 2016-2017' has analyzed the different training activities promoted by public and private universities associated with the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
This study, prepared by CEPES, notes that 28 universities offer graduate 74 studies on Social Economy in three training modalities: 'doctorates', 'university or official masters', and 'own titles' (including own masters, which do not have category 'oficial' courses expert, specialist or further training).
"It is important that annually offer postgraduate studies increases in Social Economy within the university, with the aim of promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship in social economy enterprises", said the president of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño.
"College today," added Pedreño, "will be the entrepreneurs and workers of tomorrow, so from CEPES and from universities and public authorities must help to build social economy enterprises, as they contribute to the goal of achieving a new economic, sustainable, stable and quality employment, and social and territorial cohesion "model.
LEGISLATION
At the state level, there are several regulations that demand the presence of the Social Economy in academic curricula. Recently, the Government of Spain approved the Program Development and Promotion of Social Economy 2015-2016, in which -in its axis 6- certain actions relating to universities are contemplated.
In this program the Government encourages conduct "training designed to initiate, develop and qualify in the knowledge of the Social Economy". It also calls for the "development and publication of studies, work documentation, analysis and research and other similar actions that allow a better understanding of the evolution of the Social Economy and identifying factors that may contribute to the development of the same"
Other statewide legal texts related to the Social Economy in education are Law 5/2011 of Social Economy, Report of the Subcommittee for the Promotion of Social Economy of the Congress of Deputies, June 2011; or the Law 14/2013 of support for entrepreneurs and their internationalization.
Besides, CEPES has called for the government and other agentssocial and educational design of a training curriculum that fosters entrepreneurship in the social economy, and this suits the different educational stages.
In addition, CEPES requests the educational world develop manuals, teaching guides and other educational materials to facilitate entrepreneurship in the social economy, through education and knowledge of this business sector.
