The new blockchain technology or 'chain of blocks' will allow Social Economy companies to generate a change with positive social impact through decentralization and disintermediation of processes related to the challenges of local or global sustainability, "as this Thursday the president of the Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES) and Social Economy Europe (SEE), Juan Antonio Pedreño , during his speech at the first event in Spain of the international tour 'Blockchain for the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) ) '. This act arises from the collaboration between European Blockchain HUB and CEPES.

The meeting, held in Madrid, was attended by numerous international experts from Europe and Asia to share their vision on Blockchain, the mission of this new technology within the framework of the SDGs, as well as the opportunities offered to the Social Economy.

Among them, the president of the European Blockchain HUB, Blaz Golob; the director of Blockchain Lab BAES, Carmen Pastor ; as well as the senior developer of this entity, Ramón Martínez Palomares .

INFORMATION EXCHANGE:

Blockchain is an account book that allows information exchange and transactions between two or more participants through a secure and irreversible computer code. These exchanges do not require centralized intermediaries to identify and certify the information, but it is distributed among multiple independent Blockchain network participants (nodes) that register and validate without any need for trust between them.

Each participant has an exact copy of the information, allowing to carry out trazables and unforgeable transactions. Block chains work like accounting books in which each note is linked to the previous one. For a note to be reflected in the database, it must be previously verified by a consensus mechanism between all the nodes.

The Blockchain technology can be a powerful lever to bring together all the stakeholders involved in the value chains and those that regulate them: producers, intermediaries, the final consumer and governments.

During the day it was analyzed how in the future, all public services will use Block technologychain, becoming a great opportunity for Europe and Member States to reconsider their information systems, promote user confidence, and the protection of personal data, help create new business opportunities and establish new areas of leadership, benefiting citizens , public services and companies.

"It is necessary to humanize technology, to adapt digitalization to the Social Economy, to European citizens and to the values of our systems, in line with the Horizon 2020 and the UN 2030 Agenda", insisted Pedreño, at the same time He added that Blockchain, within the framework of the Industry 4.0 revolution, is "an inclusive technology that will help transform the anatomy of the market and society".

In this line, the director of Blockchain Lab BAES, Carmen Pastor , said that Blockchain will make the 4.0 industrial revolution more inclusive. "We do not want technology to separate society. We want a digital revolution in which everyone is included, "he said.

In addition, he indicated that the Blockchain technology is "the most efficient and the lowest cost" and that, for this reason, it can be used by more people. "It will probably become the infrastructure of a global market. It can lead to a change in the way we conduct transactions and share value, through the interaction of economic networks, "he concluded.
