Madrid, June 17, 2020.- Juan Antonio Pedreño was unanimously re-elected today, President of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), within the General Assembly that celebrates the employers of this business model that in Spain it represents 10% of GDP and 12.5% of employment.
Pedreño, graduated in Chemical Sciences in the specialty of Industrial Chemistry from the University of Granada, expert in Cooperativism and Social Economy from the University of Murcia, and master executive from the University of Manchester in collaboration with FUEM, has chaired CEPES since 2008. In addition , is president of the European employers' association of the Social Economy (Social Economy Europe) and of the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Social Economy (Red ESMED) .Ç
"In this new stage, and despite the economic and social complexity we are experiencing, we set ourselves the important objective, with renewed strength and enthusiasm, of placing the Social Economy and CEPES on the political agenda at the highest level and increasing the visibility of this business model before the Society and the public powers ”, Pedreño has stressed.

Likewise, the Board of Directors of CEPES has been renewed, which will have 28 members, maximum representatives of the Spanish Social Economy and of the different entities that comprise it (cooperatives, labor companies, mutual societies, Special Employment Centers, Companies of Insertion, Fishermen's Guilds and Associations of the Disability sector).
