Juan Antonio Pedreño was unanimously re-elected today as president of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), within the Electoral Assembly held on the day. Four vice-presidencies have also been elected, which will be occupied by José Severino Montes Pérez (representing Agro-Food Cooperatives); Rafael de Lorenzo García (ONCE), Enrique Sanz Fernández-Lomana (Spanish Confederation of Mutualities); and Javier Goienetxea Urkaregi (Mondragon Corporation).

 

• The CEPES Electoral Assembly has also elected four vice-presidencies, which will be occupied by José Severino Montes Pérez (representing Agro-Food Cooperatives); Rafael de Lorenzo García (ONCE), Enrique Sanz Fernández-Lomana (Spanish Confederation of Mutualities); and Javier Goienetxea Urkaregi (Mondragon Corporation).

• In addition, the composition of the CEPES Board of Directors has been ratified.

 

Madrid, June 17, 2020.- Juan Antonio Pedreño was unanimously re-elected today, President of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), within the General Assembly that celebrates the employers of this business model that in Spain it represents 10% of GDP and 12.5% of employment.

Pedreño, graduated in Chemical Sciences in the specialty of Industrial Chemistry from the University of Granada, expert in Cooperativism and Social Economy from the University of Murcia, and master executive from the University of Manchester in collaboration with FUEM, has chaired CEPES since 2008. In addition , is president of the European employers' association of the Social Economy (Social Economy Europe) and of the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Social Economy (Red ESMED) .Ç

"In this new stage, and despite the economic and social complexity we are experiencing, we set ourselves the important objective, with renewed strength and enthusiasm, of placing the Social Economy and CEPES on the political agenda at the highest level and increasing the visibility of this business model before the Society and the public powers ”, Pedreño has stressed.

In addition, the CEPES Electoral Assembly has also elected four vice-presidencies, which will be held by José Severino Montes Pérez (representing Agro-Food Cooperatives), Rafael de Lorenzo García (ONCE), Enrique Sanz Fernández-Lomana , representing the Spanish Confederation of Mutualities –CNEPS–; and Javier Goienetxea Urkaregi (Mondragon Corporation).

Likewise, the Board of Directors of CEPES has been renewed, which will have 28 members, maximum representatives of the Spanish Social Economy and of the different entities that comprise it (cooperatives, labor companies, mutual societies, Special Employment Centers, Companies of Insertion, Fishermen's Guilds and Associations of the Disability sector).

Apart from the Presidency and the four Vice Presidencies, it will be composed of: Victor Bravo Moñino (ATLANTIS), Miguel Angel Cabra de Luna (ILUNION), Patrocinio Contreras Márquez (Covirán), Mikel Fernández Arberas (REAS), Óscar García Bernal (AEDIS), Daniel Aníbal García Diego (FEACEM), Carlos de la Higuera Pérez (FECOMA), Antonio Marzoa Notleusen (UNACOMAR), Luis Miguel Jurado Mancilla (COCETA), Félix Martín Galicia (HISPACOOP ), Diego Lorenzo Sáez (Fundación Espriú), Jaime Martínez-Conradi Álamo (AndalucíaEscoop), Guadalupe Martín Herrera (FAEDEI), Julián Menéndez Moreno (LABORPAR), Jaume Oller Rossell (Confederació de Cooperatives de Catalunya), Jaime Oñate Clemente de Diego (CONCOVI), José Basilio Otero Rodríguez (FNCP ), Miguel Rodríguez de la Rubia Sánchez (CAJAMAR CAJA RURAL), Ramón Roig Solé (Grupo Clade), Adrián Serrano Villuendas (CEPES Aragón), Carlos Sierra Sosa (UECOE), Ignacio Ugalde Barbería (CEPES Navarra) and Emili Villaescusa Blanca (Confederación de Cooperatives de las Co Valen municipalitycyan- CONCOVAL).
