The Galician Forum of the Social Economy, new partner of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES)

The Board of Directors of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy, CEPES has unanimously agreed to incorporate the 'Foro pola Economía Social Galega' as a full member. FORESGAL is the highest representative entity of the Galician Social Economy.

• The 'Galician Social Economy Polish Forum' represents 371 Social Economy companies, with an annual revenue volume of 1,616.5 million euros and 9,276 direct jobs.

• Its main objectives are to give visibility to this business model before society and the main economic agents, representing their interests before the different political, economic and social institutions.

• With this incorporation, CEPES has 28 member partners, the highest representatives of the Spanish Social Economy.

 

Madrid, September 28, 2020.- The Board of Directors of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy, CEPES has unanimously agreed to incorporate the 'Foro pola Economía Social Galega' as a full partner.

The 'Galician Social Economy Forum' has as main objectives to give visibility to this business model before society and the main economic agents, representing their interests before the different political, economic and social institutions, and generating the appropriate conditions for the development of their entities.

The founding entities of the 'Foro pola Economía Social Galega' are the Union of Galician Cooperatives (EspazoCoop), the Association of Agrifood Cooperatives (Agaca), the Galician Business Association of Special Non-profit Employment Centers (Cegasal), the Business Association de Sociedades Laborales de Galicia (Aesgal) and the Association of Insertion Companies of Galicia (Aeiga), entities that represent 371 organizations, with an annual income of 1,616.5 million euros and 9,276 direct jobs in Galicia.

The president of the 'Galician Social Economy Forum', Celso Gándara has stated that “the Galician social economy improves its political impact, with Europe and with the government of Spain through its inclusion in CEPES. A complete institutional recognition of the value it brings to the Galician social economy in Spain ”.

For his part, the president of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), Juan Antonio Pedreño , stressed that "the Galician Social Economy is part of a first-rate socioeconomic reality in Spain." Pedreño has highlighted that “the incorporation of the 'Foro pola Economía Social Galega' is of great importance to give visibility and recognition to the Galician Social Economy, so that it has a presence within the autonomous and municipal public policies due to its significant impact in terms of employment and creation of economic and social wealth, with companies committed to the territory and that do not relocate ”.
