Madrid, October 14, 2020 .- The Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES) and the Excellence in Management Club have come together, through an agreement, to promote responsible public procurement by Public Administrations and promote the participation in it of the 43,000 Spanish companies of the Social Economy.
With this agreement, signed by the presidents of CEPES, Juan Antonio Pedreño , and the president of the Club Excelencia en Gestión, Alberto Durán , both entities agree to collaborate “in relation to the new legal framework for public procurement, with a strong impact on the promotion of quality and excellence public contracting by Public Administrations, as well as the new possibilities that it offers them for the use of responsible public contracting tools that facilitate the participation of companies and entities of the Social Economy ”.
Pedreño has specified that “the new regulatory framework on public procurement represents an excellent opportunity to incorporate social criteria in public procurement; which allows administrations to give priority to Social Economy companies, and the values they contribute: quality employment, equality between women and men, social and territorial cohesion, and inclusion of the most disadvantaged people in the labor market ”.
The president of CEPES added that "responsible public procurement, demanded of Spain from the European institutions and which came into force in 2018, in addition to being ethical and legal, has also proven to be efficient from an economic point of view."
The president of the Club for Excellence in Management affirmed that "public contracting is one of the best tools of social policy that the State has and the social commitment and excellence of companies should prevail".
