Madrid, January 27, 2022.- The president of the Spanish Business Confederation of the Social Economy (CEPES), Juan Antonio Pedreño, insisted this Thursday that "the social economy is a guarantee of distribution of the funds of the Recovery Plan , Transformation and Resilience”.
This was done during his speech at the day of debate on this Plan organized in blended form by the Economic and Social Council of Spain and the European Economic and Social Committee.
During his speech at the round table " The opinion and participation of economic and social actors on the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of Spain" the president of the employers' association of the Social Economy has underlined "the enormous" impact that this plan in the labor market and productive activity.
“The European funds are forcing us to act quickly and implement new instruments, such as the National Recovery Plans, which must allow us to face challenges such as social reconstruction and the change of production models after the pandemic, all while guaranteeing a job. of quality and improvement of the productivity of people's skills ”, he pointed out.
Likewise, the president of CEPES pointed out that this Recovery Plan is “a historic opportunity” for the more than 43,000 social economy companies in our country, “ a business model that has shown high levels of resilience, not only during the pandemic , generating quality jobs ”.
Pedreño also pointed out how "the social economy is called to play an essential role in this recovery", and stressed that it is "considered an essential pillar on which to rebuild Spain and Europe" by the Spanish Government . Thus, he referred to the report on the Progress of the 2030 Agenda, prepared by the Government of Spain at the end of 2019 in which the social economy was recognized as one of the 9 lever policies of Spain to comply with the 2030 Agenda.
In addition, he referred to the PERTE of the Social and Care Economy, announced by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez two weeks ago, for whose approval, the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy pointed out, work is being done. This PERTE “seeks territorial cohesion so that projects rooted in the territory are developed and that promote the inclusion of young people, women and groups at risk of social exclusion, as well as the participation of citizens in strategic projects such as the energy transition, the economy circular, industry, digitization, olto the care economy”, explained

In this sense, the president of CEPES commented that the employers have had to start up a support and advice service to guarantee that the Funds reach the companies of the different territories and to be able to inform them about said calls.
