The Spanish Business Confederation of Social Economy (CEPES), was incorporated on July 8, 1992, and registered with the Ministry of Employment and Security docket number 5,129.
It is a business confederation, state level, the cross-cutting nature makes it the largest institution representing the Social Economy in Spain, becoming a platform for institutional dialogue with public authorities.
CEPES, as umbrella organization for the various existing economic activities under the concept of social economy, integrates 29 organizations. They are state or regional confederations and specific business groups, representing the interests of Cooperatives, Labor Societies, Mutual Societies, integration enterprises, special employment centers, fishermen and industry associations on Disability, with more than 200 structures level support autonomic.
CEPES exists as sole spokesman, integrating and structuring of all the allied organizations; It defined as an economic and social agent, which acts in the market and impact on society through their actions, with personality and defending a business model, with its own specific values.
OBJECTIVES
Promote and defend the social economy and movements and sectors within it.
Impact and influence the creation of public policies and legislation at the state and international levels.
Promote economic development of the country as a means of achieving stability and pluralism of economic markets.
Move the society and the business sector a way to make socially responsible company with specific values.
Express and defend the common interests of the partners to society and the Administration and to European and international institutions.
Defender, manifest in their common aspects, the interests of the social economy at all levels, in economic, social, cultural or political state and EU levels.
Study all kinds of problems arising in connection with generic and common to all entities of Social Economy, agree appropriate solutions and provide the consequent lines of joint action.
Establish and provide services common or specific interest requiring organizations of the Social Economy.
Promote progress in the methods and techniques of business management, particularly through the implementation and dissemination of research and the organization and operation of appropriate means of training and information.
