DEFINITION
Fishermen’s Guilds are non-profit public law sectoral bodies that represent the economic interests of fishing vessel shipowners and workers in the extractive industry. They act as consultative bodies, collaborating with the authorities with competences in fisheries issues and in the regulation of the fisheries industry with the aim to satisfy the needs and interests of their members and a commitment to contribute to local development, social cohesion and sustainability.
