As has become customary in the past few years, the Spanish Social Economy Employer’s Confederation prepares this report about the most relevant enterprises in Social Economy. Its aim is to offer a perspective of the relevance that this business fabric has in the Spanish socio-economic landscape.
Based on the figures of the Social Economy enterprises selected by the CEPES partners and their Business Groups, this report aims to make the results regarding a total of 938 social economy enterprises known. These enterprises are present across all industries of the economy and they vary in size. In the past few years they have become consolidated as a key instrument to revitalising the economy and creating stable, quality employment. Co-operatives, employee-owned companies, mutual societies, social integration enterprises, special employment centres, fishermen’s guilds and associations in the disability sector are all institutions that make up this economic model, where business efficiency coexists with the values of solidarity, social responsibility and social cohesion.
